Why does it suck?
AsiaXpat, despite having some potential, tries so hard to be everything that it ends up being nothing. Its forums are from bulletin board days, its personals are impersonal, its online classifieds are as friendly as fumbling through newspapers, its homepage is a shameless clutter of spam, its tools and references are links that a high school student can put together, and its mailbox functions like gmail's retarded inbreed cousin. Having a worthless website is not so much a crime, however, as compared to the totolitarian censorship of the msg boards. For a community site, they sure hate their users. It doesn't take long on the site to realize that quality and community will be sacrified to see ratios and conversions that will look good for advertisement sales and the old boys behind the website. The most unfortunate accident to be conceived on site is the lingering moron that keeps moving and deleting posts. I thought that power hungry Ops and Mods were something that only existed in IRC chat rooms. If you having nothing better to do than monitor message boards, then why don't you start writing posts to yourself? Got something to say? Say it on my msg board.
